Bill Manness

Bill grew up in a family run horse business which bred, trained, showed, and sold quarter horses for 50 years.

From an early age, Bill was drawn to animals and the life of raising and training horses to perform at the highest level.  By age fourteen, Bill was training horses professionally, and working hard to learn the best practices.

Bill was fortunate to grow up watching some of the best team ropers and trainers in the world based in the Aubrey, TX hot spot during his pivotal years.  This was an experience that shaped Bill’s awareness of what was possible within the industry.

Over the years, Bill has accomplished many of his goals in raising, training and promoting AQHA World and Reserve World champions, as well as American Congress champions and reserve champions.  Working and living in both the US and Canada has allowed Bill to be in front of some of the toughest judges in North America. He has added over 30 Canadian National championships including AQHA Champion I’ll Smoke Ya.

One of Bill’s very first and life-long loves has been team roping; from roping his sisters as a toddler, to competing throughout his life at every opportunity. Bill has trained multiple horses for the Canadian Team Roping Futurity’s and remains active in the sport. If he isn’t roping he probably wishes he were.

At Mbar, Bill is responsible for the breeding of 30+ mares a year to multiple stallions including the one Bill made a champion, I’ll Smoke Ya.
Bill has had the opportunity to work with many talented individuals in the industry, including Dr. Chad Hewitt and farrier Carson Richardson. They bring a high level of knowledge and expertise to the breeding and training program.

Bill has a 15-year-old son named Brody who plays high school football when he isn’t roping. He’s the light and love of Bill’s life and they have a special bond.
